Who AM I ?

Jeremy Kevis — Aspiring Researcher in AI and Data Governance

“I study how AI and data-driven systems shape digital production, governance, and power in society.”

I bring a nontraditional but highly relevant background in logistics, construction, and technical environments. Over a decade, I coordinated deadline-driven projects that required planning, risk management, and cross-team communication experience that developed a systems-oriented mindset focused on managing complex, interdependent work.

I am completing a Bachelor of Information at the University of Toronto, where I study how technology, systems, and organizations interact through design thinking and digital practice. Through coursework and collaborative projects, I have developed skills in systems analysis, workflow design, and translating complex processes into structured, actionable frameworks.

My research interests focus on artificial intelligence and data governance, particularly how AI-driven systems are integrated into digital platforms and how regulatory frameworks address issues of accountability, bias, and power. I am interested in how these systems shape not only production environments but also broader societal outcomes, including labor conditions, access to information, and the distribution of control in digital ecosystems.

My goal is to pursue graduate study in public policy or governance and contribute to research that informs the development of more accountable and equitable digital systems. I aim to bridge technical understanding and policy analysis to better align technological innovation with the public interest

LORE (BACKGROUND)

The Strategist I don’t just play games; I dissect them. My competitive drive took me to the Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour, where I learned that high-level play is about risk management and probability. That same analytical mindset drives my obsession with Teamfight Tactics—I love the "puzzle" of finding the meta, whether it’s drafting a perfect deck or analyzing the trait design of sets.

The Teammate Beyond the competition, I believe games are at their best when played with people. Some of my defining memories are adventuring with friends, sharing the triumph of a difficult boss fight, or just hanging out in a virtual world. I love the social fabric of gaming—the banter, the coordination, and the shared storytelling. That connection is what makes interactive media special, and it’s why I want to help teams build worlds that bring people together.

The Organizer Off the server, I am a student of information. My studies at U of T go beyond just code and data—I am deeply interested in how media shapes society and how we interact with digital culture. My background in library sciences grounded me in organization, but my degree has taught me the broader impact of the systems we build. Whether I’m analyzing a complex board state or organizing a production pipeline, I find satisfaction in creating order out of chaos to help meaningful stories reach their audience.
